Today, I’m throwing it back to last summer, when my best friend, Aaren, was getting ready to welcome a new member into her family. It was a beautiful evening to document these last days as a family of four. And just a few weeks later, she gave birth to the amazing and adorable Avery.
I’ve known Aidan’s mom, Kristi, for 20+ years, and was so elated for her when she announced she was to welcome a new baby boy into her family. I just had to go over to meet this sweet little guy a couple of weeks after he was born and spend a little time catching up with Kristi in between shutter clicks.
I was so excited to get to meet this adorable little man. I’ve known Finn’s mom, Kelly, for several years, and she and her husband, Chase, were so gracious to welcome me into their home to capture some of his first days. He has some of the best hair I’ve ever seen on a newborn and I just had to get that documented as well.
On a blustery and cloudy day in early Winter, I met Emily in a park in downtown Tellico Plains to document her maternity session. She was absolutely beautiful and the wind was definitely a friend that day. It made her look so etherial and radiant. I know she couldn’t wait for her baby boy to make an appearance in early February.
I had the opportunity a couple of months ago to photograph this beautiful mom-to-be, Caylen. Her husband ended up not being able to make it to the session, so she asked if her parents and her mother-in-law could be there. I, of course, said yes! There is something so special about the love between grandparents and their grandchildren. And I couldn’t be happier to get to capture some of it.
I was so fortunate to get to photograph this beautiful couple’s engagement session while they were in town for the day. The weather was threatening rain (a common occurrence in late March and all of April in East Tennessee!), but we pushed through and got some truly wonderful shots. The love was palpable during the short time we had and I cannot wait to be a part of their big day next summer!
Hey y’all. After an unplanned hiatus (I decided to dip my toe into the full-time workforce), I am back to capture all your favorite memories again. And not a moment too soon, with the holiday season quickly descending upon us. There is still plenty of time to get some great shots before all the leaves are gone (and then, I hope, time for snow!). So hit me up, before it’s too late!
I love love. Especially when it’s as evident as it was with Ashley and Nate. I’ve known Ashley and her husband Nate for quite a while and I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph them (and their pooch, Ellie) earlier this year. It was such a blast! They are so cute together and spent the entire session laughing and just being adorable. They were up for anything and we were able to capture a gorgeous sunset shot right at the end of their session. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful couple. 🙂
It seems like just yesterday that I was photographing her second child’s newborn photos… Well, last summer, anyway 🙂 And now, this beautiful Mommy is getting ready to add a little girl to their family of two boys to complete their family. Katie was absolutely glowing when we did her maternity session on her parents’ farm in Tellico Plains back in May. It was a beautiful location and a beautiful bump! Have I mentioned how much I ADORE baby bumps?! Well, I do!
This session… Where to begin?! For the past year, I’ve had this concept of a beautiful, long-haired girl in a flowing dress coming out of the water. I had the model picked out for about as long as I had the concept! My lovely friend, Ashley. She is absolutely gorgeous and was just amazing. She was up for anything during this long shoot and the water was COLD. Bless her heart, she was freezing by the time we were done. But she was a total sport about it. I couldn’t have asked for a better day or better model for this session. Lots of times, I get asked to do specific things for a client. It’s very rare that I get to shoot “just for me”. This shoot was definitely just for me. In a way, it’s been a dream come true. To see a year of planning FINALLY come to fruition, is a bit surreal. The few images I’ve posted on Facebook have already received a lot of love and I couldn’t be more flattered. I hope you all enjoy looking through this session as much as I loved shooting it. Shooting this session truly was a labor of love for me and reminds me why I am so passionate about this amazing thing called photography. Much love, R
